Water Treatment Chemicals

Numerous water treatment chemicals such as hydrochloric acid, antiscalant  and sodium hypochlorite are utilized in water treatment systems.

Hydrochloric Acid (HCI)

For increasing the performance of reverse osmosis systems and protecting the system hydrochloric acid is dosed in water before it is introduced to membranes to reduce the settling trend of ions and to reduce pH value to the desired level.

Usage Method

Hydrochloric acid is diluted with water and set to the value determined according to the characteristics of water and operating conditions of the system with dosing pump by EUROSAN A.Ş. authorized technical service personnel.

Packaging and Storage

Hydrochloric acid is available in 35 kg plastic cans. The chemical can be stored in ventilated, dry and dark areas in its original packaging.

Antiscalant (3380-7780)

Antiscalant chemical is used to increase the performance of reverse osmosis systems and to prevent settling of carbonate and sulfates contained in water on the membrane and causing clogging. Antiscalant is a product with polymeric structure. It is not volatile or flammable.

Using Method

Antiscalant is diluted with water and dosed to the system using dosing pump selected according to the system capacity. Since dosing amount to be applied depends on characteristics of water, system and ambient operating conditions, this rate is set to the values approved by EUROSAN A.Ş. authorized technical service personnel.

Packaging and Storage

Antiscalant is available in 30 kg plastic cans. The chemical can be stored indoors for a period of 1 year in its original packaging.

Sodium Hypochloride (Chlorine)

Chlorine (NaCl) is dosed to raw water to eliminate microorganisms that can be present in raw water or to oxidize iron or manganese content in raw water if present. It can also be used for disinfection purposes.

Using Method

Chlorine chemical is dosed to the system using dosing pump selected according to the system capacity for disinfecting the raw water. Dosing amount to be applied is set to the values approved by EUROSAN A.Ş. authorized technical service personnel according to characteristics of water .

Sodium Hypochlorite (Chloride) chemical is available in 35 kg plastic cans. The chemical shall be stored in dry, cool and dark areas, away from flammable substances in its original packaging.

Sodium Hydroxide (Caustic)

Caustic chemical is used to increase the pH value of raw water when necessary. In some industrial processes, product water can be used for balancing the pH value.

Using Method

Caustic (NaOH) chemical is dosed to the raw water using dosing pump selected according to the system capacity. Dosing amount to be applied is set to the values approved by EUROSAN A.Ş. authorized technical service personnel according to pH value to be balanced.

Packaging and Storage

Sodium Hydroxide (Caustic) chemical is available in 48 kg plastic cans. The chemical shall be stored in dry, cool and dark areas, away from flammable substances in its original packaging. Contact with skin shall be avoided.

SODIUM METABISULFITE ( SMBS )

Since chlorine (NaOCI) in water damages reverse osmosis membranes, sodium metabisulfite is dosed to water before membranes to neutralize free chlorine. Also, this chemical is able to prevent growth of any microorganism which may cause organic pollution.

Packaging and Storage

Sodium Metabisulfite (SBMS) is available in 25 kg packs. The chemical shall be stored in dry, cool and well ventilated areas, away from water, ice and oxidizing substances, in its original packaging.

Acidic Membrane Washing Liquid

It is a washing liquid used for cleaning the ions accumulating on membranes in Reverse Osmosis and Ultrafiltration systems, in certain periods. Mostly used for settling carbonate and sulfates. Consists of a mixture of organic acid and inhibitors.

Basic Membrane Washing Liquid

It is a washing liquid mostly used for eliminating bacterial pollution in membranes which are used in Reverse Osmosis and Ultrafiltration systems and have ion accumulation and high pollution load.
